The award-winning 137 Pillars House is a stunning 30 suite boutique Hotel with a rich colonial past; built around the original colonial teak homestead which dates back to the late 1800’s.  It is located in a leafy residential enclave a few minutes’ walk from the historical Wat Gate Temple, Ping River and boutique shopping area.

The hotel is a member of the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) and has recently joined their Considerate Collection.  Sister property, 137 Pillars Suites Bangkok is also a member.

Anne Arrowsmith, General Manager of 137 Pillars House, is a strong advocate for sustainability.  “We have a duty of care to our community and the wider world; a duty to assume the role of custodians of our local culture, architecture, waterways, forests, animals and environment and ensure that the generations that follow inherit a world that we would recognize and want to live in”.

The hotel has a number of sustainable programmes under three core initiatives:

Local Procurement 

  • Using locally sourced food items wherever possible, with fruit and vegetable deliveries in reusable bags or containers; staunchly refraining from accepting plastic.
  • Creating a positive impact by fostering local economies while actively working to minimize our ecological footprint
  • In the hotel’s boutique they take pride in showcasing an exquisite range of high-quality hand-woven textiles and handmade decor items

Environmental Responsibility

  • Plastic-free laundry service
  • In-Suite water in glasses bottles
  • Sustainable cooling in all suites
  • Sorting and recycling in waste management
  • Composting garden waste into Biochar
  • Slow Travel experience by local Samlor (rickshaw) with zero carbon emissions
  • Preventative mosquito control programmes in the neighbourhood

Social Responsibility 

  • A CSR programme with Elephant Nature Park to raise funds and awareness for elephant conservation and reforestation

Rates at 137 Pillars House start from THB 19,800 (USD 550) per night, inclusive of breakfast and are subject to applicable service charge and government taxes.
