Chicago Med season 10 is adding two new doctors to its roster. Following the surprise departure of Dominic Rains, it’s still unclear whether the actor will return to Chicago Med season 10 to wrap up the arc of his veteran character Dr. Crockett Marcel. However, it is confirmed that there will be new faces joining the ensemble including Oliver Platt, Marlyne Barrett, Jessy Schram, Steven Weber, Luke Mitchell, and S. Epatha Merkerson.

Ahead of the show’s return to NBC on Wednesday, September 25 at 8 PM ET, Deadline confirms that Chicago Med season 10 has added Sarah Ramos and Darren Barnet. Ramos has the role of Dr. Caitlin Lenox, a new character focused on getting Gaffney Medical into shape. As for Barnet, he’ll play Dr. John Frost. The character is described as a pediatric resident who harbors a secret. Both actors will be series regulars on the hospital drama, which streams the next day on Peacock.

Ramos & Barnet Have Been In Some Big Projects

This latest casting marks Ramos’ return to NBC, as the actor previously portrayed Haddie Braverman on the family drama Parenthood which aired on the network until 2015. More recently, Ramos has recurred on the Emmy-winning series The Bear as Jessica, a brief co-worker and potential love interest for Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Richie. Her other credits include playing Cheryl Pistono in HBO’s Winning Time adaptation and appearing in the Damien Chazelle film Babylon. Ramos is also known for creating and starring in a viral reenactment of The Social Network, which featured Dylan O’Brien in the Andrew Garfield role.


As for Barnet, he’s starred in the Netflix teen comedy Never Have I Ever for all four seasons in the role of Paxton-Hall Yoshida. His other credits include This Is Us, Criminal Minds, and S.W.A.T., in addition to his role as Freddy in two episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. On the movie side, Barnet has had supporting roles in the recent Road House film and the hit romcom Anyone But You.

The additions of Ramos and Barnet come as Chicago Med season 10 is welcoming a new showrunner in CSI alum Allen MacDonald. The writer, who also worked on Prime Video’s Harlan Coben’s Shelter, is taking over a somewhat different ensemble following the departures of Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider. They’ve been involved with the show since its 2015 premiere But as viewers know One Chicago changes are common on-screen and off.
