Deadpool Is Officially Coming for Nightwing’s Sex Symbol Status with New Animal Form

Marvel’s Deadpool is officially challenging DC’s Nightwing for the title of sexiest superhero. The Beast World gave fans a glimpse of Dick Grayson in the form of a fox, and now the Merc With a Mouth has been given his own foxy form, which may be enough to make fans feral.

Weapon X-Traction – written by Ryan North with art by Javier Garrón – is a serial back-up story spanning eight issues, spread across multiple Marvel stories, from Captain America to Spider-Gwen. The tale finds Deadpool and Wolverine on a mini-reality-hopping adventure that sees the fearless frenemies pop in between several ridiculous dimensions, including one that has Deadpool really feeling himself.

The most current episode of the tale follows at the end of the very serious Captain America #11 – written by J. Michael Straczynski and Ryan North, with art by Jesús Saíz.

As Deadpool and Wolverine topple through multiple realities, the surrounding worlds seem to bend to Deadpool’s will. Considering the Merc With a Mouth’s patended brand of nonsensical humor, the two have already jumped between some startlingly sultry alternate universes. One, in particular, had the two heroes transform into a pair of anthropomorphic fox-men, seemingly to spark a passionate fire in Deadpool in the process. This continues a surprising trend in comics this year, following up on Nightwing’s transformation into a fox in DC’s Beast World.

The moment Deadpool and Wolverine phase into the furry-loving realm, the art style immediately shifts to accentuate the bodies underneath their already skin-tight costumes. Their pecs burst from their suits, their abs are astonishingly cut, and for some reason, they have prominent human nipples. Wolverine doesn’t look too interested in his new form, but Deadpool admits he’s sort of into it. As the pair are forced into intimate proximity during the course of the story’s action., Deadpool looks at the reader with a cheeky seductive glare in his eyes.

Nightwing’s Status As “Sexiest Anthropomorphic Fox” Is Challenged By Deadpool

Ever since Dick Grayson dropped the pantsless leotard look and adopted a slick body-tight black costume, his confident charm has cemented him as the Bat Family’s sexiest crime fighter. In 2023, DC released an event called Titans: Beast World that transformed heroes and villains from the DC Universe into anthropomorphic animals as well. Nightwing, like Deadpool and Wolverine, transformed into his own fox form, which further accentuated some of Dick’s more muscular traits. Compared to the blade-wielding Marvel heroes, however, Nightwing misses the extra it-factor that pushes the design from hilarity to hunkiness.

Sure, it can be argued Nightwing’s peak physique and unmatched charisma make for an arguably attractive animal appearance, but Deadpool’s reaction to his own animal-form by far elevates him to the sexier of the two. Thanks to the talented Javier Garrón’s art, the duo look pushes this moment from Weapon X-Traction into something unabashedly sexy, as much as it is played for a hearty laugh. So, it may be safe to say that Dick Grayson has officially lost his title as comics’ sexiest beast thanks to Deadpool’s salacious brand of humor.
