Iconic Soccer AM duo Helen Chamberlain and Tim Lovejoy to reunite for new podcast Soccer A-Z

Soccer AM icons Helen Chamberlain and Tim Lovejoy are set to reunite for a new football podcast.

The legendary football show aired for the last time last May, breaking the hearts of fans who had grown up watching it as part of their match day routine.

Lovejoy and Chamberlain, arguably the most loved hosts of the programme, had long since departed the show by the time its final episode came out.

After joining in 1995 and 1996 respectively, Lovejoy left in 2007, with Chamberlain staying for another decade before also calling it quits in 2017.

But soon, fans can hear the pair chatting football just like the good old days.

That’s because the duo are starting a new podcast titled Soccer A-Z.

Each show will be themed around a letter of the alphabet, tackling a variety of football-related challenges and triumphs based on the letter of the week.

The caption in their promotion video says ‘Familiar faces in new spaces’, hinting at the feature of a number of old Soccer AM pals taking part too.

“THE GANG ARE BACK!” the clip’s caption read.

“@timlovejoy & @HellsBellsy are reuniting to relive the Golden Era of football and tackle weekly news from the beautiful game.”

And it’s clear the former co-host’s friendship hasn’t faded, either.

Speaking about the new podcast, Lovejoy said: “Helen, the crew and I spent over a decade sharing laughs and unforgettable moments on Soccer AM, and I can’t wait to bring that same energy and passion for football to our new podcast, Soccer A-Z.

“This will be a journey through the history and heart of the game, featuring plenty of familiar faces along the way.”

Meanwhile, his old co-star Chamberlain said: “I’m really looking forward to reminding Tim of all the absolute nonsense he thought up, and made us do during the Soccer AM days, as I’m sure he’s forgotten most of it.

“Luckily, the rest of us haven’t.”

The first episode is due to be released on Wednesday September 4.
