The Purdue football program will debut new all-black uniforms during Friday night’s game against second-ranked Oregon, which kicks off at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.

The black jerseys are rather simple compared to the new uniforms the Boilermakers unveiled this summer, as they’re completely devoid of the “Purdue” wordmark across the chest and traditional stripes on the sleeves.

They instead feature gold numbers with an anthracite stroke on the front, back and shoulders, Purdue’s Motion “P” logo on the base of the collar and “Boilermakers” on every player’s nameplate, as well as plain black pants.

The satin black helmets are clearly the focal point of the uniform, meanwhile, with a script “Purdue” on one side, the player’s number on the other, two thin gold stripes down the center and a gold facemask, marking only the third time since 2006 the Boilermakers have deviated from black facemasks.

On the other sideline, the Ducks will be outfitted in the yellow helmets and white jerseys from their “Mighty Oregon” set, but will pair them for the first time with the white pants from their unreleased road “Fly Era” set.

They’re looking to avoid an emotional letdown from last week’s massive victory over Ohio State and become the 10th team since 1950 to lose to an unranked Purdue team while ranked No. 2 in the country.
