Scott McTominay subject to approach from European giants Napoli as Manchester United set price tag

Selling the Scotland international would help the Red Devils facilitate a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte.

Erik ten Hag has made bringing in a new defensive midfielder a top priority as he looks to provide competition for Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo.

And McTominay could be the man to be sacrificed, with any potential sale to be pure profit with the 27-year-old a product of the club’s academy.

Since making his debut in the 2016/17 season, McTominay has scored 29 goals in 253 matches in all competititons.

He enjoyed his best campaign last term, where he chipped in with ten goals and three assists in 43 games.

But his future is up in the air this summer, with his contract at the Theatre of Dreams to expire next year.

And United know now is the time to cash in on McTominay to avoid losing him for nothing in 2025.

Turkish giants Galatasaray last month confirmed they were keen to bring in the player.

Meanwhile McTominay also has admirers in the Premier League.

talkSPORT reported in July how Fulham saw a bid rejected by United after it fell below their valuation.
