The Recruit season 2 gets a promising production update. Led by To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before breakout star Noah Centineo, who also executive produces, and created by Alexi Hawley, the spy dramedy debuted in December 2022. The story follows Centineo’s character, Owen Hendricks, a newly hired CIA lawyer who gets caught up in a dangerous conflict that has international implications. With generally positive reviews from both audiences and critics and solid viewership, The Recruit season 2 was renewed only a month after the show’s premiere.
In an update from TVLine, it’s confirmed that The Recruit season 2 has begun to do post-production work on its last few episodes. Even though post-production refers to work that is done once filming is completed, the update notes that the release date for season 2 is still unknown because Netflix is evaluating and adjusting its programming slate after the scheduling fallout from the writers and actors strikes in 2023.

An Acclaimed Actor Is Among The New Cast Members
The show’s return will pick up from where The Recruit season 1 left off, as Max Meladze (Haddock) is captured and shot by her own daughter. But as they deal with the cliffhanger, the upcoming episodes will see Owen pulled into another life-threatening situation in South Korea. He soon realizes that the bigger threat might be coming from inside the agency.

The first installment proved to be a solid addition to Netflix’s line-up of politically adjacent, high-octane dramas, which also includes The Night Agent and The Diplomat. After a long wait, and especially if Doug Liman returns to direct, the show’s return could be even stronger than its debut.
