Vietjet recently signed service agreements with Rolls-Royce and Lufthansa Technik, highlighting its ongoing commitment to sustainable aviation and operational excellence.

The deal with Rolls-Royce involves maintenance services for the 40 Trent 700 recently ordered by Vietjet. This is concurrent with TotalCare engine service for the 20 Airbus A330neo widebodies the airline ordered at the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow.

The agreement with Lufthansa Technik, on the other hand, involves Total Component Support (TCS) in the form of extensive component services for Vietjet’s growing fleet, thus ensuring the airline’s operational excellence and highest maintenance standards.

The agreement with Vietjet is the largest TCS contract Lufthansa Technik has secured in the Southeast Asia region.

A combination for flight excellence

Vietjet CEO Dinh Viet Phuong said of the agreements: “The combination of modern Trent 7000 engines on the newest generation of Airbus A330neo, supported by premium service TotalCare, will help Vietjet Air reach new technological heights, significantly enhance the quality of our flights, and increase the reliability and efficiency of our operations.”

Dinh added that the addition of the latest high-efficiency Rolls-Royce engines aligns with Vietjet’s sustainable development strategy, particularly with its goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Lufthansa Technik’s vice-president for corporate sales in Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent Johanna Koch said of the deal: “We are thankful that Vietjet has once again chosen us as their trusted partner to accompany Vietjet on their future growth path. Lufthansa Technik is committed to providing Vietjet with the highest quality of service and support to ensure the continued success of their operations.”
