Dazzler #2 – Written By Jason Loo; Art By Rafael Loureiro

It makes perfect sense for the retro-styled superstar to make her first big stop in London, England, considering that the country gave the world so much iconic music

Alison Blaire’s new super-suit drips with British iconography without appearing too on the nose. The cover illuminates the fact that this is a story for the Anglophiles in the audience, as Blaire will be heading across the Pond for the second stop of her world tour. Of course, it can’t be that simple, and she will find herself in trouble during a live studio session. It’s a mystery as to who her latest foe will be, but according to Marvel, her entourage of Strong Guy and Domino will have a spotlight in the second issue.

It makes perfect sense for the retro-styled superstar to make her first big stop in London, England, considering that the country gave the world so much iconic music, particularly between the 1960s and 1980s, making it more than completely justified to have an entire issue set in the area. Considering the city of London underwent a historical boom in the 1960s and 1970s, Dazzler is sure to turn heads and get a British thumbs up for her Union Jack look.

Dazzler is more than just a pop star. In a world where mutants are shunned, she’s out in the open performing in front of audiences. She’s a beacon of advocacy and equality.

As Dazzler embarks on her world tour, it begs the question what other music meccas the mutant sensation will visit. Her first stop is established to be London, but the plot description of a world tour leaves a lot of options open that Marvel has yet to divulge. From context clues, Dazzler appears to be starting out her first solo issue in the States before jetting off to London in her second issue. Where she’ll go from there is anyone’s guess, but an exploration of various music capitals across the world would be a fun touch.

Time will also tell who the villain of the run will be. Marvel has kept that information under wraps, focusing on Dazzler and what she represents for mutants across the world. Dazzler is more than just a pop star. In a world where mutants are shunned, she’s out in the open performing in front of audiences. She’s a beacon of advocacy and equality. This is sure to peeve some, and a brand-new villain to the Marvel Universe isn’t beyond possibility. But one thing is for certain: Nobody can dull X-Men hero Dazzler’s shine.
