Newcastle star Alexander Isak has been linked, along with Sporting Lisbon’s Victor Gyokeres and Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee.

But RB Leipzig starlet Sesko – a long-time target of Manchester United – is also on the north London giants’ radar.

The 20-year-old was heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford in 2022, but he instead joined Leipzig, where he has impressed in Germany.

Sesko’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, was at the Theatre of Dreams to watch Arsenal beat United 1-0 on Sunday, and he was also in attendance at the Emirates Stadium to witness the 5-0 demolition of Chelsea last month.

The youngster’s potential arrival at Arsenal could see Hale End graduate Nketiah leave, with the 24-year-old being made available for purchase having fallen down the pecking order.

Crystal Palace are known to be admirers of the one-cap England international having enquired over his services ahead of the winter transfer window.

Sesko, who spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Red Bull Salzburg, has banged in 17 goals in all competitions this term – with 13 coming in the Bundesliga.

Since January 27, the Slovenia international has chipped in with either a league goal or assist in every game he has started, with the forward finding the back of the net in each of his last six outings.

Sesko has been seen as an attractive option by potential suitors with his release clause reportedly standing at £42.8million.

But as a result of his fine form, Sky Germany claimed earlier this month his clause has shot up, which could now rise to as much as £64m.

Mikel Arteta is understood to be in the market for a physical striker, having deployed Kai Havertz in the centre-forward position having utilised him in a box-to-box midfield role in the first half of the season.

And Sesko fits the bill as he stands at 6ft 5ins, with the youngster able to add a different dimension to Arsenal’s frontline.
