Masters champion Scottie Scheffler heads into this week’s action as strong favourite to win a third career major, priced at 3/1 to win a sixth PGA Tour event this year following his victory at the Memorial Tournament.
The world number one has also won the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Players Championship and the RBC Heritage this year, declaring himself the man to beat in North Carolina this weekend.
According to Betfred, Rory McIlroy is expected be Scheffler’s closest challenger, priced as second favourite at 9/1 to add to his two PGA Tour victories this year.
The four-time major winner finished as the runner up at this event last year, finishing just one stroke behind Wyndham Clark at the Los Angeles Country Club in California.
Xander Schauffele won his first ever major title at the PGA Championship last month and heads into this weekend third favourite at 12/1 to become the first person to win back-to-back majors since Jordan Spieth nine years ago.
Collin Morikawa has finished in the top four in each of his last three tournaments and ended up just one stroke behind Scheffler in second place at the Memorial Tournament in Ohio last weekend, so heads into this weekend’s major in good form.
The American two-time major winner has been priced as the fourth favourite for victory this weekend at 14/1, just ahead of Bryson DeChambeau and Viktor Hovland at 18/1, who finished second and third respectively at last month’s PGA Championship.
